Angel Tree

Angel Tree

Christmas is the time to give. It is a time to be thankful, joyful, and to be a blessing to those who need hope. One way to do so is by helping a needy child or family have gifts or needed items under the tree or in the kitchen for the holidays. This is a wonderful opportunity for the family to do something for someone else and a great way to help the children understand and grasp one of the many meanings of the season. Here is an idea to create an angel tree in order to help others and add some more joy to the holidays for the family.

Items Needed:

  • Small Tree
  • Christmas Colored Construction Paper cut into squares or Gift Tags with ribbons
  • Ribbons or ornaments for each piece of paper
  • Tree lights
Directions:

  1. Choose a child or family to provide a meal or gifts during the holidays from a local shelter or charity group.
  2. Write down the Christmas presents on each piece of paper and hang on the tree.
  3. Every time a gift is bought have the kids replace the piece of paper it is written on with an ornament or ribbon or candy canes.
This will most certainly get everyone into the Christmas Spirit, including those being helped. Merry Christmas!!!
